Dr. Franck Carbonero

Dr. Carbonero is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Washington State University and the Team Leader of the Human Health & Nutrition Team.

Dr. Shirley Arbizu

Shirley is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at WSU. She is focusing on determining the relationship between phytochemicals present in grains and the gut microbiome, as well as the effect of their metabolites on cellular respiration.

Ahhria Kirkendall

Ahhria is a PhD student at WSU working with Dr. Franck Carbonero.  She is focusing on cranberries and how they affect the human microbiome and metabolites while profiling project buckwheat varieties.

Devin Connolly

Devin is a graduate student at WSU working with Dr. Franck Carbonero in the gut microbiome lab. He is conducting in vitro experiments to illuminate the effects of food processing methods on gut bacterial compositions.
